Obey God and leave the consequences to Him

In our Christian walk, some of us struggle with obeying God. This relates to obeying the scriptures as well as the personal instructions/assignments God gives us. For most of us, our desire is to please God in how we live our lives. We may declare, “My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent me….” (John 4:34, AMP), but what happens when Father gives you clear instructions that just seems impossible or even absurd. What then?

Its Not About You But The King And His Kingdom

All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.
When others are troubled,
we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ,
the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
~~~o~~~
The Bible tells us that those God loves, He disciplines. God’s way of disciplining us may seem harsh at the time but it is for our benefit. One of His schools of learning is going through trials. Whilst in the storms of life, we often get discouraged. We are predisposed to focus solely on the problems as opposed to the end result that will make us better equipped for His Kingdom. We seek out solace from the storms everywhere but the Father – forgetting that our comforter is only a prayer away.
The above Scripture tells us that God is our comforter. It goes on to say that He comforts us so we can comfort others. Therefore, for the mere fact that you have gone through, makes you a prime candidate and able to placate others. God has designed this process ensuring that though we are going through, others can benefit. Therefore, He has strategically positioned you not only to grow but also to aid others. Therefore, it not about you, but the others to follow.
So here are a few pointers that will help:
1. Stop resisting Gods plan for your development by fussing or complaining. Count it all joy
2. When in trouble, run to Him and He will comfort you.
3. Remember it doest stop with you. Always look out for those who are going through similar experiences.
4. Extend the hand of compassion as Jesus would and comfort them as they go through.
Think about it, God has so much faith in you that He chose you to help relieve the pain of others. Doesn’t that make you feel special?
Don’t Get Weary In Doing Good
...You Shall Receive A Harvest!
Do you sometimes feel like your efforts are not yielding a great deal? Maybe you have sown financially into a church, ministry, or people and are yet to reap a harvest. It could be that after all your hard work, your project, job or business did not yield the expected results. Or maybe your labours of love attract little or no appreciation by others.
Be Still And Know…
It’s amazing that when we don’t know which way to go, many of us still choose to blindly forge ahead on full throttle - perhaps even calling it taking steps of faith. It seems we replace Gods Words and wisdom with what seemingly appears ‘God ideas’ which can take the form of what we see others do, what others encourage us to do (e.g. well meaning friends, family, mentors, leaders, media, etc) – all which are a recipe for disaster when Gods own voice is missing from the equation.
Couple this with our own impatience, ambitions, personality types, it becomes a hodgepodge that renders us ineffective and moving us further from Gods plans for our lives.
Just Trust God
You have been mulling in your mind how your situation will be resolved. Up and down the matter goes in your mind. You have searched for a solution but all you keep getting are set backs that leave you scratching your head in utter wonder and (if the truth be told), disappointment.
Is Your Hope Deferred? Five Key Points To Uplift You
There is a quote in the Bible that says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:14, NIV). There is so much truth in this quote and it always resonates with us more where we feel we have hoped, prayed, waited, yet nothing seems to be happening.
All Hope Is Not Lost...Dare To Dream Again
Ok, so another year seems to be flying by and you don’t feel like you have made any progress with your goal(s) – for whatever the reason. The good news is it isn't the end of the world. Tomorrow is another day and you can try again. No point crying over spilt milk, blaming yourself and/or others. The trick is to hope again.
Help Lord! I'm Struggling To Hold On
If you have felt this way or are feeling like that now, I have a suggestion: Let Go!
Sounds easy enough but can be one of the hardest things for any of us to do. I believe one of the reasons is our fear of the consequence. But consider this: If you were to let go, what would happen? You fall into the capable hands of God. So there you are wanting to hold on and be heroic whereas God is just waiting for you to let go of the very thing you are clinging on to (which can't save you, by the way, because you can't save yourself) and fall right into His open arms. I tell you, when the storms of life come, I can think of no better place to be. So do yourself a favour and simply let go.
Can Dead Bone Really Live?
Here you are facing a dire situation and someone bounces along with irritating joy, slaps your back and says, “Cheer up, things will get better”. Apart from wanting to hit them (I'm being honest), you find yourself looking at your situation again wondering if things could get better.  Because, lets face it, it will take nothing short of a miracle.
Stop Throwing A Tantrum!
OK, you did not get what you wanted. Now you throw your toys (prayer, bible study, etc) out of the pram and you give God the silent treatment. After all, He owes you because you prayed, fasted, laid before the Lord, rolled around, jumped, clapped, hollered, right?
As adults, when we see kids throw tantrums, we frown at them because of their immaturity. Could this same immaturity be said of you? The fact is that many of us just need to grow up in God. If you have prayed in faith, God has promised always to hear us when we call. So why the tantrum? Instead, keep standing in faith and get on with things. He will make all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). That’s our assurance.
So, rather than throw a wobbly, thank Him instead. After all, He is GOD!
